A couple weeks ago the annual list of the 50 best restaurants in the world was unveiled and Alinea came in at an impressive No. 7. Alinea was also named the best restaurant in North America.
Shortly after this announcement, Chef Grant Achatz announced his new projects: his next restaurant, aptly called Next Restaurant, and a bar, The Aviary.
But, get this, you buy *tickets* to eat at the restaurant. Pete Wells at the NY Times, said it best, "BY this point, nearly everyone agrees that dining out has replaced going to the theater and that chefs are rock stars. So why don’t restaurants sell tickets?"
Here is a *trailer* for Achatz's Next Restaurant:
And as someone who lived in a dorm in college called Next House (yes, it was the next dorm built), I approve of the naming of the restaurant.
